This finely crafted edition of the Kitab-i-Aqdas is in Persian and Arabic. This present edition contains not only the text of the Kitab-i-Aqdas but also other supplementary texts which are important for the reader's understanding.

"Of the more than one hundred volumes comprising the sacred Writings of Baha'u'llah, the Kitab-i-Aqdas is of unique importance. "To build anew the world" is the claim and challenge of His Message, and the Kitab-i-Aqdas is the Charter of the future world civilization that Baha'u'llah has come to rise up." This "Most Holy Book," whose provisions must remain inviolate for no less than a thousand years, and whose system will embrace the entire planet, may well be regarded as the brightest emanation of the mind of Baha'u'llah, as the "Mother Book of His Dispensation" and the "Charter of His New World Order." (in persian).

The Kitab-i-Aqdas was revealed in 1873. The present edition which has been published by the Universal House of Justice, is the first official publication of the Most Holy Book in the language of Revelation, and is thus of unique historical importance.

This present edition contains not only the text of the Kitab-i-Aqdas but also other supplementary texts which are important for the reader's understanding: an introduction by the Universal House of Justice, a description of the Kitab-i-Aqdas by Shoghi Effendi, some supplementary texts to the Kitab-i-Aqdas revealed by Baha'u'llah (the Eight Ishraq, the Obligatory Prayers, the Prayer for the Dead), Questions and Answers, A Synopsis and Codification of the Laws on the Text of the Kitab-i-Aqdas, Notes on the Text of the Kitab-i-Aqdas, as well as an index. The texts from the Pen of Baha'u'llah are in the original language, (i.e. they are all in Arabic, except for the Eighth Ishraq). The other parts of the book are in Persian. The paragraph numbers of the English edition of 1992 are printed in the margin of the Arabic text of the Kitab-i-Aqdas.

Great care has been expended on the appearance of the book. The gold letters on the dark red cover as well as the gilt edging give the book a very refined appearance. The dark red background of the endpapers have been embellished with ornamental gold print. The paper is 90g antique beige. The book has 480 pages, four of which are ornamental pages in five-color printing (four colors and gold). The text of the Kitab-i-Aqdas is presented in beautiful calligraphy, hand-written by an expert calligrapher in Naskh script, and with a gold border around it. The figures in the margin are in grey.
