Short Biography: Marizieh Gail (1908-1993) was the daughter of a Persian-American marriage. Her parents, Ali-Kuli Khan and Florence Breed, were called upon by 'Abdu'l-Baha to unite the East and the West. Marzieh, too, sought to promote greater understanding between the different cultures. She received her MA in English from the University of California at Berkely in 1932 and later worked as the first female reporter on the staff of a Tihran newspaper. Fluent in English, French, Persian, and Arabic, and having some capability with Russian, she also worked on various Baha'i translations, including one of the Kitab-i-Aqdas.

Inspirational biographical sketches of 69 early Baha'is, from the pen of the Abdu'l-Baha, son of Baha'u'llah, focus on the attributes of spirit and the reflection of the divine in man.
A treatise describing the true nature of civilization and providing a blueprint for "the future reorganization of the world," The Secret of Divine Civilization is Abdu'l-Baha's "outstanding contribution" to the social and spiritual progress of nations and individuals."
The most mystic and poetic of Baha'u'llah's Writings, these two works in one volume constitute in some ways the most absorbing and evocative books of His Revelation.
