This collection of essays from Phyllis Edgerly Ring, writer and columnist for United Press International's, divulges how to "see the spiritual" in everyday moments and everyday life. Like love at first sight, "life at first sight" focuses on instant recognition and irresistible attraction, a sense of something mysteriously familiar and a sense of spiritual connection. These personal essays show how to develop a new sense of being during daily activities and everyday interactions, as well as through engagement with the natural world. As a jumping-off point for spiritual conversation, these compositions can offer food for thought on how to lead a more spiritual life. The book comprises essays from a variety of publications and the author's weekly UPI column, as well as new content written especially for this publication.

Phyllis Edgerly Ring is an award-winning freelance writer with more than twenty years of experience and more than seven hundred articles published in several dozen magazines and newspapers, including American Profile, Christian Science Monitor, Ms., Writer's Digest, Bay Area Parent, Yankee, and many others. A columnist for United Press International's, she also offers workshops in writing and serves as an instructor with the Long Ridge Writer's Group. She is a contributing writer and columnist for Seacoast Newspapers and contributing editor for Our Times for Women and New Hampshire Life magazines. She lives in Exeter, New Hampshire.

Here's What They're Saying...

"Life At First Sight captures the web of meaning that unites and sustains all of human life. These sparkling essays remind us that the spiritual side of life is not a luxury or an optional nicety, but utterly crucial. At this moment in history, no message is more vital." — LARRY DOSSEY, MD, author of The Power of Premonitions, and The Extraordinary Healing Power of Ordinary Things
