This 26-minute video reviews the 25-year history of the Black Men's Gathering and was produced under the auspices of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of the United States.
The Universal House of Justice in 2012 described the Bahá'í Black Men's Gathering as "a vibrant and spirited enterprise, which has assisted contingents of African American men to deal with certain obstacles confronting them, to foster a sense of fellowship and kindle their faith and commitment to Bahá'u'lláh, and to encourage them to find an effective part to play within the recent series of Plans."

Born of the need to address the plight of men of African descent in the United States, and the unique afflictions imposed upon them, the Black Men's Gathering was founded in 1987 as an individual initiative. From its humble origins in a Greensboro hotel room where the original twelve participants met, the Gathering would grow and evolve over the course of a quarter-century to embrace hundreds in an atmosphere of love, fellowship, and devotion to the Cause of God. Anchor of Faith gives us a glimpse of the vibrant spirit of the Gathering; details its history, evolution, and influence; and brings to light the countless avenues of service pursued by its participants both at home and across the globe.

Some of the most significant obstacles to human well-being today are habits of Western thought that have been exported around the world. These habits include dichotomous conceptions of truth and relativity, cynical conceptions of knowledge and power, and conflictual conceptions of science and religion. Michael Karlberg articulates a framework for reconciling each of these false dichotomies in a critically informed and constructive manner. He does this, in philosophical terms, by reconciling ontological foundationalism and epistemological relativism within a moderate social constructionist framework. Karlberg's timely and accessible argument is offered with a spirit of humility and open-mindedness, inviting dialogue characterized by the same spirit, born out of genuine concern for the betterment of humanity at this critical juncture in history.

A groundbreaking book about the direct relationship between a woman's rights and freedoms and the economic prosperity of her country. This books looks at a variety of widespread, global issues related to gender inequality – such as violence against women, education, women and work, the role of culture – and analyzes the economic impact of the continued disempowerment and devaluation of women and their contributions at all levels of society. Although the Bahá’í Faith and its teachings are not specifically discussed in this book, the findings presented within are inspired by the Bahá’í belief in the fundamental equality of women and men.
