When ten-year-old friends set up an after-school club so they can hang out together more often, they don't expect to be able to solve their problems at school. But when they tap into the spirit within them, they and their friends discover that they have the power to make the world a better place.

Fern has grown up on the remote Orkney Islands of northern Scotland, and is preparing to leave home for the first time to attend boarding school. Faced with the prospect of being away from the familiarity of her loving family, she is apprehensive about what lies ahead. As a member of the Bahá’í Faith who recently turned fifteen, Fern is also preparing to take part in her first nineteen-day Bahá’í Fast.
