The book is both a personal and a historical narrative that contains stories and observations which provide a window into the Bahá'í community of Persia in the early 1900s, and the Bahá'í communities of Europe in the 1930s. Over 900 footnotes and 40 historical photos accompany this narrative.
The foreword of the book tells the story of how this manuscript was preserved over the past 70 years and how it has become relevant to the most recent developments in Iran. The Introduction of the book informs the reader with an overview of the life of the author. An English translation of these two sections is included at the end of the book.
