Meherangiz Munsiff’s many achievements were grounded in her unwavering and profound love for Shoghi Effendi, the Guardian of the Baha’i Faith. The few days of her pilgrimage in 1953 defined the course of her life and initially led to her arising alone to pioneer to Madagascar and the French Cameroons, leaving her family behind in London and rewarding her with the station of Knight of Baha’u’llah. She later traveled to 147 countries, sharing the Faith and, in particular, her workshop on the power of prayer and meditation. The first part of this book shares the inspiring biography of her life, and the second part is comprised of her manuscript on prayer and meditation.

At just 25 years old, David Tanyi was the oldest of the five young Cameroonian Knights of Bahá’u’lláh – the four others were all under 21. Newly married, and forfeiting a job opportunity to go pioneering, he reached French Togoland in early 1954, and was named a Knight of Bahá’u’lláh together with Vivian Wesson and Mavis Nymon.

It was the start of 35 years of pioneering, during which Esther and David Tanyi experienced poverty, hunger and malnutrition, loneliness and xenophobia – but also the joy of teaching, and laying the foundations for Bahá’í communities in Togo, Benin and Ghana.
